Romantic in this photograph.

Public - Escalator

My first association with "public" is crowd, anonymity, public place. To shoot this set, I picked Chicago's largest L-Train transfer station - Thompson Center. The venue, one of Chicago landmarks, provides a modern and vibrant location. There is abundant light in the building which further interacts with elements of the interior design resulting in the interesting play of light and shadows. In my selection of five photographs, I portray people's relations: parental in this picture.

Another photo find at iStockpro.com My first association with "private" is something exclusive; meant either only for an individual or something shared between a elite group of people.

Photo find at iStockpro.com. This is my first association when I think "public". The first idea that comes to my mind is a public place with a lot of people walking, crowd, anonymity...

Public or Private?

Public or Private?

Public or Private?

Public or Private?

Is the relationship between the subject and the photographer public or private? I took those shots in the studio of the college. I wasn't noticed. My gut feeling was that I was intruding and that led me to the conviction that a photo session is more within a "private" than "public" domain. At times, the definition is hard to describe and I would leave it up to instinct.

Blue Flower

The interaction of roof elements, lamp-post, flower and the building creats a dynamic and enging interplay. The sun reinforces the central point of the composition.

Blue Flower

The lens flare took a more difined shape in this shot and seemed to be strategically posed.

A cyclist caught in the frame enriched the composition further.

The sun and lens flare added more visual interest to the composition.

What was appealing to me the most about this theme was the composition: the relation between organic flower in the foreground and post-lamp and roof elements in the more distant plane.

Show & Tell No .1 Horse Police - Street Photography from Chicago

The picture shows a variety of people's interactions.

Show & Tell No .1 Horse Police - Shot from Chicago for Family Album

The lady was actually posing for her partner taking a photo of her. They seemed to be tourists in Chicago.

AON - Verticality

Strong contrast between surfaces of the building that are in the sun and the ones that are in the shadow are the point of interest in this picture.

AON - Verticality

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" AON property manager appreciated the reflections in his building as well.

AON - Verticality

Diamond shape of the lantern is the focus of the composition. It is a warning sign - convergence ahead. Beware! There is a strong contrast of its silhoutte against the bright blue sky.

AON - Verticality

Juxtaposition of the buildings is the focal point of the photograph. Line of the shadow and lens reflections are accents that add visual interest.

AON - Verticality

Convergence is the theme of this cycle.
What I like most about this picture is capturing the shadow of the building. I used shallow depth of field to emphasize the skyscraper's height. I aimed to show texture of the building in the foreground.
